MADRID, 28 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Teruel Exists has registered an appeal this Friday before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the National High Court in which it requests the precautionary suspension of the Government order that sets the criteria required for the installation of the headquarters of the future Spanish Space Agency.
As defended by the group of voters in a statement, collected by Europa Press, the appeal filed indicates that the third section of the order includes requirements that refer to a series of infrastructures “with which only large cities and towns in Spain have close to metropolis”.
For this reason, they allege in their legal grounds that the conditions required are “flatly contrary to the principles of structuring, deconcentration, territorial cohesion, as well as the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, because these characteristics already transcribed in this document, they are only fulfilled by an appraised number of localities in Spain”.
In this way, they demand the precautionary suspension of the order until the sentence is handed down because, in Teruel’s opinion, this rule “contains evident contradictory elements that should lead to the nullity of this general provision.”
From their point of view, this order also violates the Law of Science, and this has been reflected in their appeal, where they recall that section 7 of the third additional provision provides that “in particular, the Government will promote that the location of the The Spanish Space Agency is based, among others, on the principles of social and territorial cohesion, improvement in the functioning of public services, levels of unemployment or the fight against depopulation”.
Due to these circumstances, they point out that “there is nothing left to do but declare the nullity of this report of the Consultative Commission and of the order that publishes it for not being in accordance with the law and being seriously detrimental to the interests of the vast majority of populations that want to opt to be the headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency, therefore contrary to the general interest”.
