Valencia Digital Summit plans to generate a business volume of more than 10 million euros in its 2023 edition, which will be held on October 26 and 27 in the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia. The international technological event, organized by Startup Valencia, will once again exceed 10,000 professionals from more than 80 different countries in this sixth edition.

In addition, it will bring together more than 400 international investors with an investment portfolio of more than 8,000 million euros, will feature more than 250 internationally renowned speakers and will bring together more than 1,500 startups.

This was announced by Juan Luis Hortelano, president of Startup Valencia, during the presentation of this event, an event that included the participation of the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana, Nuroa Montes; the deputy for European Funds, Electronic Administration and Innovation of the Diputación de Valencia, Juan Ramón Adsuara, and the Councilor for Tourism, Innovation, Employment and Entrepreneurship of the Valencia City Council, Paula Llobet, as reported by the organization.

Hortelano explained that the event will bring together leaders from prestigious companies and inspiring personalities. Among the confirmed speakers are Vala Afshar, CIO of Salesforce; Ángel Rivera, CEO of Banco Santander; Ángel Sáenz, Country Manager of Spain and Portugal at LinkedIn or Alejandro Mullor, Industry Digital Strategist at Microsoft.

Also participating will be Guenia Gawendo, director of Telefónica Ventures; Vladimer Botsvadze, Advisory Board Member of the United States Artificial Intelligence Institute; Ann Hiatt, with more than 15 years of experience in Silicon Valley as Executive Business Partner of Jeff Bezos (founder and CEO of Amazon) and Eric Schmidt (CEO/Executive Chairman of Google); Felipe Peñacoba, CIO of Revolut or Alba Redondo, world champion with the Spanish Women’s Soccer Team, among many others.

Likewise, he highlighted the importance of this event to “consolidate Valencia as an innovative and technological ecosystem of international reference and to attract investment and talent to the region.”

“We can be proud to affirm that the startups that have participated in the Valencia Digital Summit since 2018 have managed to reach more than 11.5 billion dollars in investment. For the first time, and within the framework of the meeting, Smart Mobility Valencia will be developed with the AVIA automotive cluster and the most important logistics and port innovation forum in the sector with Valenciaport, “which takes the event to a new dimension and consolidates it as one of the most outstanding technological events in southern Europe,” he noted.

For her part, Nuria Montes has advanced that the results of the report from the Startup Observatory of the Valencian Community that are going to be presented at the meeting “demonstrate the good health enjoyed by our innovative ecosystem, which continues to grow both in the number of startups with a “15% more than the previous year, as in direct qualified employment, with a total of 16,396 people.”

Juan Ramón Adsuara highlighted that the event “represents an opportunity for the province of Valencia to position itself as an ideal setting to attract talent and develop innovative business models.” In this sense, Adsuara has highlighted “the effort being made by the Provincial Council to help municipalities undertake technological actions aimed at citizens”, and has given as an example “the aid to Smart City projects or the Connecta Valencia program, that uses smart markers to improve tourist experiences.

For her part, councilor Paula Llobet has valued Startup Valencia “as a reference entity for technological and innovative companies that, through the organization of VDS, helps make visible our talent, our companies, our universities and all those who “they work in the city to lead the economic and social transformation.”

According to data from the Startup Observatory of the Valencian Community prepared by Startup Valencia, Valencian startups grow by 15% and generate 16,396 jobs.

The sixth edition of Valencia Digital Summit, whose motto is ‘Building the Good Future’, has the collaboration of organizations such as Banco Santander, HP, Damm, EY, Opentop, AVIA, DreamHack, Elewit, Wayra, Agencia Argentina de Inversiones y Comercio Internacional , Smart Mobility Valencia, ADEIT, Burda Principal Investments, Banco Sabadell, CaixaBank or GoHub and the support of the Government of Spain, Generalitat Valenciana, Provincial Council of Valencia, Valencia City Council, Parc Científic UV and the IVF.
