BOHINJ, Slovenia, June 2, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The Slovenian Tourism Board (STB), in collaboration with the Julian Alps Association, has launched the country’s first tourism promotion activity with NFT and blockchain technology at a unique event held in the Julian Alps.
NFT (non-fungible token) is a unique and unrepeatable certified digital token issued in a limited edition as a unique collectible electronic souvenir. The NFT Collection “The Ultimate Julian Alps Sensory Adventure”, consisting of fifteen NFTs, was published on Vandri, an NFT tourism platform.
The first tourism event in the country using the NFT promotion took place in the Julian Alps this week, after first being announced at the World Travel Market in November 2022. Selected journalists received NFT tokens that enabled them to obtain an NFT in their digital wallets and were able to use them in real life by attending this unique event. Using an NFT to promote the stories of two key endangered species, the “Ultimate Julian Alps Sensory Adventure” raised awareness of Slovenia’s goal of moving forward with a digitized tourism strategy, while highlighting the plight of two natural species in Slovenia and showed the impressive Julian Alps.
With the help of two stories about the cock of the woods (western capercaillie), the largest member of the capercaillie family in Slovenia, and the queen of the Alps (eryngo alpine), a rare protected flower, the “Sensory Adventure Definitive View of the Julian Alps” showed the profound importance of balance and reconnection with nature. Guests had the opportunity to experience therapeutic yoga, sound baths and forest baths. This unique multi-sensory adventure turned out to be a huge success thanks to guided tours, stunning nature and scenic boat rides on Lake Bled, complemented by food from some of the best chefs in Slovenia.
