MADRID, 19 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has announced the financing of 43,000 homes for rent at affordable prices, during his appearance in Parliament to explain the consequences of the war in Ukraine, the High Level Meeting with Morocco and the last European Council .
During his speech, in which he boasted of economic growth, job creation and the lowest inflation rate in Europe, he pointed out that these homes will be both newly built and refurbished. They will be financed by creating a new ICO line of 4,000 million euros with European funds.
Thus, as he has said, these 43,000 homes will be added to the 50,000 homes that he has already announced that he will mobilize from the Asset Management Company for Bank Restructuring (Sareb), for a total of 93,000 homes.
Regarding the conditions, Sánchez explained that the homes must comply with energy efficiency and must be for social rent or transfer of use for at least 50 years.
“We are going to make access to housing a right and not a problem, because there is nothing more constitutional than the new Housing Law and turning housing into the fifth pillar of the welfare state,” he stressed.
