MADRID, 18 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has shown itself in favor of Real Madrid appearing as a private prosecution in the ‘Negreira case’, where the Investigating Court Number 1 of Barcelona investigates payments for a total of 7.3 million euros for alleged corruption that Barça would have done to the former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) José María Enríquez Negreira between 2001 and 2018.

As La Sexta has advanced and tax sources have confirmed to Europa Press, the Public Ministry has thus supported the appearance of the ‘merengue’ club, understanding that any team that participated in the affected competition can be considered an injured party in this case.

It was on March 12 when Real Madrid announced its intention to appear as the injured party in the ‘Negreira case’ “in defense of its legitimate interests”, after a meeting of its board of directors.

“Real Madrid expresses its deep concern about the seriousness of the events and reiterates its full confidence in the action of justice,” the Madrid club said in a statement.

Shortly after, the court of the city of Barcelona admitted for processing the complaint filed by the Prosecutor’s Office and the complaint filed by the arbitrator Xavier Estrada Fernández for alleged corruption.

The complaint is directed against Barça, its former presidents Sandro Rosell and Josep María Bartomeu, the former directors of the Blaugrana club Óscar Grau and Albert Soler, and against Negreira himself.

According to the complaint, to which Europa Press had access, the Public Ministry considers that the payments made to Negreira for more than 7.3 million euros in 2001 and 2008 represent “real remuneration not provided for in the statutes of the club nor approved by the General Assembly”. It also stresses that the perceptions received by Negreira “did not have any legal or statutory support.”

For his part, Estrada pointed out in the complaint that Negreira received a total of 1,392,680 euros from FC Barcelona between 2016 and 2018 through his company DASNIL 95 SL, of which his son Javier Enríquez Romero was the manager, against whom he also sued. directed the complaint but has not been investigated.
