The Plenary Session of the Senate this week will debate and vote on an initiative of the PP with which they intend to force the Government to urgently convene the National Table on Drought, as well as establish a calendar of meetings to monitor situations of lack of water in all river basins.
Those of Alberto Núñez Feijóo have echoed the current drought situation, which has led many territories to apply extraordinary measures, taking this motion to the Senate with which they intend to pressure the Government of Pedro Sánchez to design a series of national plans to the hydrographic basins.
Thus, in addition to requesting a call from the National Drought Table, the ‘popular’ propose a Contingency Plan with extraordinary measures for those basins where the drought situation is more pronounced, so that prolonged drought situations can be managed and short-term shortages in accordance with the special drought plans for each basin.
In the text of the motion, to which Europa Press has had access, the PP also asks the Government to design regional climate models, framed in the future Special Drought Plans, that allow the identification of risk situations in the attention of the demands socioeconomic.
And they also want the Executive of Pedro Sánchez to give priority to all those actions, included or not in the hydrological planning in force, that can alleviate the effects of the drought.
