The Parliament has received this Friday through a burofax the official notification of the Central Electoral Board (JEC) about the withdrawal of the seat to the suspended president of the Chamber and leader of Junts, Laura Borràs, after having been convicted of prevarication and falsehood documentary, as parliamentary sources have explained to Europa Press.

This week, the JEC decided to give the Parliament 10 days to report on the measures it takes to withdraw the act in Borràs.

The same parliamentary sources have explained that, upon receiving the notification this Friday, the period of 10 business days does not begin to count until Monday, since it is the next business day after the official receipt of the resolution.

In this way, these 10 business days granted by the JEC would end on Friday, April 28.

With this decision, the JEC has begun the path to withdraw Borràs’s seat and proceed to take over as deputy and as president of the Parliament; She has also warned the Catalan Chamber that, if her credentials are not taken away, the electoral administration has the power to replace her.
