The head of the Junts Puigdemont per Catalunya list for the Catalan elections, Carles Puigdemont, emerged this Saturday as the only candidate capable of “standing up” before the State in defense of the interests of the Catalans.
This was stated in front of more than 2,000 people who attended the event held in the old schools of Elna (France), where he publicly presented his candidacy for the May 12 elections accompanied by the rest of the members of the lists.
According to Puigdemont, none of the other candidates can say the same, and he believes that Catalans, including non-independence supporters, will prefer to have a president who can “stand up” to a government that does not comply with them.
