BARCELONA, 31 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The candidate of the PSC in the Catalan elections and first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has claimed that Junts and ERC must go to the opposition “to overcome the ‘process'”, after the elections on the 12th of May.
“The way to overcome the ‘procés’ is with the PP in the opposition in Spain and Junts and ERC in the opposition in Catalonia,” he defended in an interview published this Sunday in ‘El País’ and collected by Europa Press.
He has demanded that both pro-independence parties make it clear “that they veto the passage of the hate speech represented by” Vox and Aliança Catalana.
After being asked whether the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will respect his decisions, he stated that “the decisions that affect Catalan politics are made by the PSC.”
Regarding possible pacts after 12M, Illa believes that the Catalans will give him “enough confidence to be able to offer a stable government” and has assured that the PSC will not be the trigger for any electoral repetition.
