He sees the Government’s financing proposal as “electoralist” and accuses it of not executing the budget

BARCELONA, 30 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The deputy first secretary of the PSC, Lluïsa Moret, has stated that they will not be “sectarian” nor will they veto anyone who has a certain ideological harmony with the PSC in the possible pacts after the Catalan elections of May 12.

In an interview with Europa Press, Moret has pointed out that the PSC is always “open to dialogue with everyone” as in other institutions such as the Barcelona Provincial Council, which Moret herself presides over and which governs the PSC together with ERC, Comuns JxIgualada and ImpulsemPenedès.

In this sense, he has pointed out that at this moment we cannot talk about pacts because what the socialists hope is to obtain a large majority in Parliament: “We will work, I insist, to obtain the best possible result and the largest possible majority. Afterwards “In this line, we do not veto, we are not sectarian, we focus on dialogues, on agreements, and we have demonstrated it with the governments that we have been establishing.”

Moret has pointed out that one of the lines promoted by the leader of the PSC, Salvador Illa, is precisely dialogue, negotiation, agreement and pact, and has maintained that they want to carry out a positive electoral campaign, “not destructive or confronting anyone.” “.

He has expressed that the party left its 15th Congress, held on March 15, 16 and 17, “with a strong project, with a cohesive PSC, prepared to govern, that is clear about what the roadmap is” and has defended the absolute leadership that, in his opinion, Salvador Illa has.

“What the country needs right now is a strong Government, that is ambitious and that makes decisions to face the problems and challenges that Catalonia has. And we believe that it has to be done with this framework, that of uniting and serving,” Has expressed.

On the other hand, asked about the proposal for a unique financing model of the Government according to which the Generalitat would collect 100% of the taxes, Moret believes that it has “a purely electoral intention” and has indicated that for the PSC, talking about fair financing is talking about equitable financing.

“During these 10 years there has been a very important investment and very important contributions, especially in the last stage of the Government of Spain, for Catalonia. The problem has been the execution (of the Government)”, and he pointed out that the execution of The 2023 Generalitat Budget leaves much to be desired.

Thus, she stated that financing must be fair, equitable and have an objective, making it clear what the financing is for, according to her: “We want better financing. But if not, it simply becomes a purely electoral proposal, without content.”

It has also been ugly that the Government of the Generalitat has not been present in the debate spaces with the rest of the autonomies to explain its model, and has regretted that Catalonia has had “the empty chair syndrome.”

Finally, he has criticized that the “confrontational readings with Spain” in relation to the fiscal deficit respond, in his opinion, to an ideological component and a model that the PSC does not share, and has reiterated the importance of putting constructive proposals on the table. to flee from victimhood, in his words.
