BARCELONA, 29 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Podem militancy has endorsed the decision of the party leadership not to stand in the Catalan elections on May 12 with 70.68% of the votes.

In an internal consultation that counted 1,978 votes, 1,398 people (70.68%) supported the decision, while 503 (25.43%) voted against and 77 (3.89%) voted blank.

The consultation opened last Wednesday, March 27, and closed this Friday at noon, in which the group explained that the current context “of uncertainty and political instability in Catalonia” leads them not to collaborate in, in their opinion, the fragmentation of the left so as not to benefit the extreme right.
