MADRID, 28 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Urbas will bring to its extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to be held on December 29 the appointment of ETL Global Spain as auditor of its accounts for the years 2023 to 2025, leaving without effect its previous proposal, approved in August, to appoint auditor HEY.

As reported this Tuesday by the company, the election of the auditor of its accounts for the period 2023-2025 is the only item that appears on the agenda of the meeting sent this Tuesday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

After having concluded its contract with Baker Tilly, the company’s audit firm to date, the ordinary general meeting of Urbas held in August had proposed EY as auditor.

However, subsequent to this proposal, since the Abengoa adjudication process has been judicialized and the bankruptcy administrator (EY Abogados) has been a company of the EY group, Urbas has considered it “prudent” to convene a new meeting to elect a new auditing company.

Urbas was one of the companies that chose to take over Abengoa in the judicial auction that was held within the framework of the latter’s bankruptcy proceedings, although Abengoa was finally awarded last July to Cox Energy, a decision that was appealed by Urbas. .

In this way, instead of EY, Urbas proposes ETL Global Spain, the fifth auditing company in Spain by billing, as auditor, after excluding Deloitte, KPMG and PwC for having advised the company on different consulting jobs in recent months. , “which makes them incompatible for carrying out the audit in 2023,” underlines the company.

ETL Global is an audit and consulting group originating in Germany, made up of 13,000 professionals in 1,300 offices and geographical coverage in 50 countries.
