MADRID, 2 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The regional presidents of the Popular Party have charged this Thursday against the forgiveness of up to 15,000 million euros of debt from the Autonomous Liquidity Fund (FLA) to Catalonia that includes the agreement between PSOE and ERC for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez and have denounced that the decision “generates inequality” between communities, so they will go to court to defend their interests.

In this sense, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has demanded from the acting head of the Executive “17,800 million euros” for his community, as well as “a compensation fund” that allows this community to “recover the 15,000 millions that have been lost with the current regional financing system”.

“We demand equality among Spaniards. After the moral humiliation, Sánchez seeks economic grievance and Andalusia says no,” criticized the Andalusian president in a message published on social networks, where he also regretted that Sánchez “forgives” the independence movement “15,000 million of debt plus 1,300 million of interest”. “Andalusia is well managed and does not need debt forgiveness,” he warned.

For her part, the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has pointed out that, after the PSOE pact with ERC, “democracy is for sale.” “Sánchez is a danger for Spain. The silence of the PSOE turns the socialists of all communities into independentists,” she warned.

The president of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, has also reproached the socialists for continuing to “create first- and second-class Spaniards.” “The forgiveness of part of Catalonia’s debt agreed between the PSOE and ERC is absolute nonsense,” he denounced, while highlighting that the agreement for Sánchez’s investiture “affects us all and creates inequality among Spaniards.” . “What Catalonia does not pay, we all pay,” he indicated.

The president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, has spoken in similar terms, recalling that a week ago, Pedro Sánchez’s Executive accused him of “inventing “fake news” for warning that this would happen.” “Today, unfortunately, it is official. How I would like to have been wrong,” he lamented on the social network X, later insisting that “Galicia’s position is the same as always.” “We will not tolerate being less than any community,” he said.

Likewise, the president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has indicated that, as he warned in the Senate, his regional government will not remain silent “in the face of injustice in terms of financing and debt forgiveness” with Catalonia.

“This agreement generates inequality among all Spaniards and gives rise to favoritism that will cause grievances both for our land and for the whole of Spain,” wrote the ‘popular’ leader, who has also confirmed that he will go to court “to defend Castilla y León and the equality of all Spaniards”.

The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, has also explained that his government will seek “protection” in the courts of justice because they will not allow “more inequality” between the autonomies. “Without taking into account the rest of the Autonomous Communities?” He questioned after the announcement of the cancellation of the Catalan debt.

“We cannot accept different treatment between citizens who should be equal or economic advantages that represent discrimination against other regions. Enough of so much indignity!”, for her part, María José Sáenz de Buruaga criticized, while that María Guardiola from Extremadura has also shown her rejection of the “absolutely unworthy agreement, which involves demolishing the principle of equality between the autonomous communities.” “And it grants privileges that are incompatible with the constitutional framework that protects all Spaniards,” warned the president of the Extremadura Regional Government.

According to the text of this pact, the State will assume the forgiveness of 15,000 million euros, 20% of the 71,000 million euros that Catalonia now has with the State. In addition, another 1.3 billion euros will be saved due to the interest that would have to be paid on that loan if it were not forgiven.

The Autonomous Liquidity Fund, FLA, was created by the Executive of Mariano Rajoy in 2012 during the economic crisis and, through it, the Government grants money to the attached autonomous communities that at the time did not have the solvency to finance themselves in the markets. .

Not all the autonomous communities are included in this Fund and only those that requested it from the Ministry of Finance are affiliated: Aragón, Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Extremadura, Murcia, La Rioja and the Valencian Community.

The acting Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, has explained after this agreement that this debt forgiveness mechanism will also be extendable to the rest of the CCAA of the common regime and that are attached to this fund.
