The Spanish power forward Usman Garuba took advantage of his opportunity with one hundred percent success in the victory (142-110) of the Houston Rockets over the San Antonio Spurs, while a substitute Santi Aldama added completing a correct game in the second consecutive defeat ( 135-129) of the Memphis Grizzlies against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The player from Azuqueca de Henares spent 14 minutes on court and, as in the last five games, he did not disappoint and was effective in scoring 5 points, with two level plays -a dunk and a triple- to close his contribution with one hundred percent hundred of success in his shots from the field. In addition, he collected two rebounds, gave an assist and recovered a ball.
Garuba boasts 100 percent from three pointers in the last five games, with a spectacular 7/7, averaging this season an extraordinary 54.1 percent (20/37) from the perimeter, after 25 percent last year. Against San Antonio, his team shone with 31 points from Jalen Green and the ‘double-double’ from Kevin Jr. Porter (19 points and 13 assists), to add the second consecutive victory, in the duel between the worst teams in the Western Conference.
Finally, Aldama enjoyed almost 20 minutes in a low-key game in which he added 9 points for Memphis. Russell Westbrook’s Clippers retaliated after five consecutive losses and celebrated their first win with the new point guard at the controls and thanks to the leadership of Paul George (42 points and 11 rebounds) and Kawhi Leonard (34 points and 10 rebounds). The Grizzlies are second in the West, while the Clippers remain in the play-in zone.
