MADRID, 6 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Peruvian president, Dina Boluarte, has asked the protesters to put an end to “violence”, inviting them to Casa de Pizarro, the seat of the Government of Peru, to discuss the reasons for their protests in the streets.
“I extend my hand and my open heart to them once again so that we can sit down at a table and talk about the needs that they are raising,” Boluarte said in a speech in which she was accompanied by her cabinet.
In this sense, the Head of State has reaffirmed that “this Executive” has “no other interest than meeting the needs of the people.”
“I call on the brothers and sisters who are still in the streets to reflect, let’s stop the unnecessary confrontation and look at the country we want, with change and hope; let’s give a message of peace, legal, political and social security so that investments come We, the tourists, are a people of peace and development,” he asserted.
The Peruvian president has thanked, in turn, the security forces for “guarding life, health and tranquility” in the cities where protests have been registered.
Likewise, Boluarte wanted to thank those citizens “who are betting on peace and not on violence, who are betting on continuing their normal lives, going to work or studying, within a society that walks in peace.”
On the other hand, he has ensured that his “ministers are committed to transparently executing 100 percent of their budget at the end of the year”, condemning corruption and attending to the needs of local governments, according to a statement from the Presidency of Peru.
“The ministers are entrusted with having executed, by June of this year, between 50 and 60 percent of the budget,” with the aim of reaching the end of the year with all of it.
“The president of the Council of Ministers has the obligation to follow up on the work carried out by the ministers,” he added.
