MADRID, 9 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The National Health and Safety Commission of the Public Prosecutor’s Office was established this Tuesday with the aim of establishing the right of consultation and participation of the members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in matters of occupational risk prevention, as well as in matters related to health and security during the exercise of their profession.
The body has a joint composition of five representatives appointed by the Ministry of Justice, led by Pilar Llop, two appointed by the State Attorney General, Álvaro García, and seven by the prosecutors’ associations.
As a first step, the Commission has approved its internal operating regulations, which establish that it will meet in ordinary session once a quarter, with the next meeting set for January 2023.
On February 21, 2022, Minister Llop and the then Attorney General of the State, Dolores Delgado, signed a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Justice and the Public Prosecutor’s Office in matters of occupational risk prevention to guarantee a system of prevention of risks and health protection, taking into account the specificities of the members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, as well as to achieve the necessary level of health protection against the risks arising from the conditions of their work.
In that signature, the head of Justice explained that the agreement laid the foundations for the new Occupational Risk Prevention Plan for prosecutors: “As minister, I am convinced that we have to take care of our professionals and reinforce fundamental rights such as maternity protection , occupational health, disability, rest and co-responsible conciliation, issues related to social security and the risk prevention system, and training,” he said.
