MADRID, 8 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government has expressed its discomfort with the position of the groups that are requesting an investigative commission in Congress to clarify what happened at the Melilla fence, among which are its coalition partners United We Can, according to government sources.
In this sense, they have indicated that they think that the PP will support this investigation commission on the actions of the Security Forces and Bodies on the southern border on June 24 because they are willing to do anything that serves to wear down the Government.
However, they indicate that “what has no explanation is that of other groups”, in reference to United We Can, which together with Bildu and ERC have been in favor of Congress investigating the event in which at least 23 migrants died.
In this regard, the Government spokesperson, Isabel RodrÃguez, pointed out this Tuesday that the trip to Melilla by the deputies of the Congress’s Interior Commission “will have come in handy” to understand the “complex reality” that the Armed Forces are facing. and State Security Corps on the southern border of Europe, despite the fact that the parliamentary partners of the Executive, including United We Can, have redoubled their criticism of the management of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
On several occasions, the minister spokesperson has shown her “respect and trust” both in the investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office, with the “collaboration” of the Government, and in the actions of the Security Forces and Bodies that on June 24 repelled the entry of some 2,000 migrants acting, as he has said, with “proportionality and in accordance with the law”.
Specifically, she has been asked about the version of United We Can, EH Bildu and ERC who, after yesterday’s viewing of the images in Melilla, refuted the version of the Interior to maintain that the tragedy that led to at least 23 migrants killed on 24 -J occurred on the Spanish side of the border and without, furthermore, medical aid being provided to the people who were dying next to the fence.
