The former vice president describes the resolution as “strange” and “completely unusual”
MADRID, 7 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The former general secretary of Podemos Pablo Iglesias has revealed this Monday that he has been excluded, along with the rest of the candidates, from the selection process for an associate professor position in the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). A situation that he describes as “strange” and “all infrequent”.
Through a thread on Twitter, Iglesias has published the resolution of the court in charge of managing the process, which states that in his case and three other applicants, no professional experience is accredited in the matter related to the profile of the position.
Specifically, the call revealed that the professional profile required experience in political consulting and the position was limited to the area of ??knowledge “Political Science and Administration”.
According to this document, two applicants are set aside for not justifying the payment of fees and the rest, as Iglesias states, for not being able to prove the exercise of professional activity in the matter, or not proving a minimum of 3 years of experience professional related to the profile of the square.
“It is not often that all candidates who apply for a position of these characteristics are excluded. You can review the positions offered in the same area of ??knowledge on the UCM website. You will see that the same candidates were not excluded on other occasions. It is enough to google the name of the candidates to verify that several of us are Political Science professionals with accredited professional and teaching experience. Exclusion is very strange,” he explained.
At the beginning of October it transpired that Iglesias had not obtained the position of associate professor in Journalism at the Complutense, a position that fell to the journalist and presenter Sandra Daviú.
To score the candidates, the process selection committee included a series of criteria such as professional experience (the section that counted the most), teaching experience and other merits. The former vice president and leader of Podemos stayed with a rating of four while the candidate who has won the place is the journalist and presenter Sandra Daviú, who has garnered 7.4 points during the process. In this way, she was in fifth place in a list of seven candidates.
