MADRID, 5 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoli Antonov, has painted a harsh picture of the medium-term future of relations between the two countries in the midst of the war in Ukraine, considering that Washington is doing everything possible to “throw Russia out of all parties” despite the need for dialogue.

“We firmly believe that a dialogue between our countries is necessary, not only in the interests of Russia and the United States, but for the benefit of the entire international society,” Antonov explained to the TASS agency.

However, the ambassador has indicated that, as things stand, the Kremlin does not perceive a “possible improvement in Russian-American relations, at least in the medium-term perspective, under current diplomatic conditions.”

The ambassador has considered that these efforts by the United States to remove Russia from the international scene are completely unsuccessful.

“It is impossible to ‘cancel’ Russia. There are problems that cannot be resolved without Russia’s participation,” he explained in relation to issues such as “strategic stability, in the field of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, global cybersecurity or climate change.

The ambassador reminded Washington that “all the countries of the world have their eyes fixed” on both powers and recalled the “particular responsibility of both countries for international peace and stability”.
