They investigate the use of minors as human shields in blockades and Nazi salutes in anti-democratic acts in Santa Catarina
MADRID, 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Dozens of supporters of Jair Bolsonaro continue for the fourth consecutive day camped in the southern part of Sao Paulo in front of the doors of one of the headquarters of the Army, which is asked between prayers to intervene militarily after the defeat of the extreme right in the elections of Brazil, while in Santa Catarina they swear to the flag under the Nazi salute.
“As long as the enemy is not defeated, we will not get out of here. As long as we do not achieve victory, we will not let go of our hands,” said one of these people, referring to the slogan used during the defeat of the left in the 2018 elections.
These people are specifically camped in front of the gates of the headquarters of the Military Command of the Southeast, in the southern part of Sao Paulo, a state in which there are still roads blocked by these anti-democratic movements, which openly call for a coup.
Very controversial images have been seen featuring these protesters, who in some cases have used minors to carry out their acts of protest. This is the case of three children in a municipality of Santa Catarina, who dressed in masks of Lula and the Supreme Court judge, Alexandre de Moraes, have been paraded in a vehicle and simulating that they are incarcerated, reports the G1 portal.
This is already being investigated, as well as a possible case of negligence by parents who placed their minor children as a sort of shield during roadblocks in the municipalities of Itajaí and Itapema, also in the state of Santa Catarina.
It is in Santa Catarina, a state located in the south of Brazil in which Bolsonaro obtained more than 69 percent of the votes, where a crowd of several dozen people has also been seen doing the Nazi salute while swearing to the flag. The State Prosecutor’s Office has announced that it has launched an investigation, reports the newspaper ‘O Globo’.
Despite the fact that Bolsonaro himself asked his followers on Wednesday to lift the blockades, hundreds of his followers have gathered in various areas of the country to continue protesting the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who from now on will have the challenge of leading a country with 58 million Bolsonaro voters and a Congress with a conservative majority.
Almost twenty states, with more than a hundred blockade points, have registered protests and mobilizations since Lula’s victory in Sunday’s elections. Many local governments have had to mobilize the Military Police due to the alleged inaction of the Highway Police, on which the Federal Government depends, still in the hands of Bolsonaro.
