BRUSELAS, 1 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, has traveled to kyiv to denounce on the ground the attacks launched by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, an example of “a cruel and inhumane tactic to cause suffering now that winter is approaching “.
Simson wants to highlight the need to support the sector and insist that Brussels will continue to side with kyiv. “I have seen firsthand the scale of the destruction and will do my best to increase financial, technical and practical support,” he tweeted.
“We have no time to waste,” he added, in an appeal that he extends not only to the EU institutions and the member states of the bloc, but also to international partners and private donors.
The Ukrainian Energy Minister, German Galushchenko, thanked the European “solidarity”, “which means a lot for all of Ukraine”, in a message on Twitter in which he shared images of his meeting with Simson in the “unbreakable” kyiv.
