MADRID, 28 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The operating company of the Ukrainian electricity network, Ukrenergo, has reported this Friday that the scheduled blackouts will continue in kyiv, the capital, to “stabilize” the electricity supply in the face of attacks by Russian forces against the country’s infrastructure.
“Power outages will be used for a longer time due to significant damage and lack of stability in the electrical system,” local authorities have indicated in a Telegram message.
Thus, they have made information available to the population on possible power outages and have urged residents to consume as little energy as possible. “Turn on the appliances one by one to reduce consumption as much as possible and, if possible, between 6:00 and 11:00 in the morning and between 5:00 and 11:00 at night,” they have indicated. In addition, they have asked shops, offices and stores to use as little light as possible on the facades of buildings.
kyiv is in a similar situation to other towns such as Chernigov, Cherkasi and Yitomir, all of which have limited electricity supply. On Thursday, the Russian military carried out several attacks against the civilian infrastructure of kyiv, according to information from the Ukrainian forces.
