The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelensky, has made a new appeal to the citizens of Ukraine asking for limitations on electricity consumption as a way to beat Russia “also” in the energy sphere.
Zelensky recalled that, due to Russian attacks on key energy structures in the country, emergency power cuts occur in many cities and regions of Ukraine, which is why “energy consumption has to be limited”, as The Ukrainian president has urged in his daily speech to the population of the country.
“No matter what the enemy does, our task is to break his plans and protect Ukraine. And this is not just someone’s task, it does not concern only energy workers or anyone else. Now all Ukrainians need a consumption energy-conscious (…). We also need victory over Russia on the energy front,” the Ukrainian president said.
In this sense, Zelensky has warned that “Russian terrorists” would have created conditions “so difficult” that no one in Europe would have “ever” seen or encountered them.
“(In Europe) there have been no such threats and our specialists are forced to overcome them now. And they defeat them with honor,” he said.
However, Zelenski has taken stock of the latest progress on the front against the Russian troops, detailing that eight Russian helicopters have been shot down this Wednesday, bringing the number of this type of aircraft eliminated by the Ukrainian Army to 250.
“The total number of downed Russian helicopters is already approaching 250. The Russian occupiers have already lost as much equipment as most Armies in the world simply do not have and will never have in service. Russia will not be able to restore these losses,” he said. the Ukrainian head of state.
“We continue to do everything possible to free our people from Russian captivity,” Zelensky added, announcing the release of “ten more Ukrainians” in the last 24 hours.
