The employers value the importance of maintaining the status quo and stress that the law does not support the Super League
MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Delegate Commission of LaLiga valued this Wednesday as important the amendments approved the previous day in view of the Sports Law project, thanking the political groups that “mostly collected the will of 39 clubs”, while recalling that it has ” other mechanisms” to curb the “threat” of the Super League.
“LaLiga thanks the representatives of the political groups for their initial interventions during the Culture and Sports Committee because they mostly collected the feelings of the will of 39 clubs from different realities of LaLiga”, says in its first point, the LaLiga statement .
The Culture and Sports Commission of the Congress of Deputies on Tuesday took definitive steps for the approval of the Sports Law with the political parties approving two of the amendments that most concerned LaLiga, with the soccer strike on the table.
“The amendment to article 47 presented by the PSOE during the course of the Congress Commission, modifying one of the paragraphs of the aforementioned article 47, means that the status quo and the current competence framework of LaLiga are respected for all commercial purposes, since ratified by reports from the State Attorney’s Office and various final court rulings,” says the employers.
“LaLiga celebrates the introduction of the amendment to article 41, which preserves the autonomy of LaLiga against possible statutory changes by the RFEF,” he adds.
On the other hand, LaLiga refers to the Super League and reminds that the law does not support this competition. “Regarding the matter of the Super League, we want to clarify that in no case does the text of the law support the aforementioned competition, but rather limits the powers of the leagues and federations to deny licenses to players, but both institutions continue to have other mechanisms. of defense to curb this threat”, he concludes.
