MOSCOW, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) — (DPA/EP) –
The leader of the Chechnya region, Ramzan Kadyrov, criticized Russia’s “weak” response to the Ukrainian army’s counteroffensives in Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia, the four regions recently annexed by Moscow, on Tuesday.
“We used to say that we were carrying out a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, but the war is already happening on our territory,” said Kadyrov, considered one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s strongmen.
In this context, the Chechen leader has acknowledged on his Telegram channel that he is dissatisfied with the “weak” response from Moscow, whom he has urged to firmly attack Ukrainian cities in retaliation to “be able to see the horizon” of the war.
Likewise, Kadirov has accused the United States, the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance of having committed a “unilateral betrayal” against Russia with the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Along the same lines, he considers that the Western powers are trying, with their successive rounds of sanctions, to harm Russia and its population, leading them to an “economic cold war”, although he says this has not been successful.
“We will destroy them, no matter how many they are and no matter how many troops and technology they send,” said Putin’s ally, known for his strong hand in Chechnya and for having sent numerous fighters to the Ukrainian front since the first stages of the war.
In response, Ukraine’s National Security Council Secretary Olexei Danilov has advised Kadyrov to withdraw his troops from Ukraine and focus on Chechnya’s independence before Russia turns its attention to the region and “kills women and children”. Chechens”.
