MADRID, 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Welsh independence party Plaid Cymru has joined this Friday in criticizing the British government after the resignation of its prime minister, Liz Truss, and has joined the opposition current that calls for early elections.
As the leaders of the formation have denounced, the “chaotic circus” in which UK politics has been involved for a long time is “further proof that Westminster will never work for Wales”, according to the BBC.
In a press conference from the town of Llandudno, in North Wales, the head of the party and the leader of the group in the House of Commons, Adam Price and Elizabeth Saville Roberts, respectively, have harshly criticized the political management of the last years.
“People in Wales are horrified by the chaos after being lectured for years that we need Westminster to survive,” both Welsh pro-independence politicians have defended, considering that the Brexit process opened a “responsibility vacuum” in the British Parliament .
In this context, they have joined the call for early elections requested by the opposition formations, including Labor, the Scottish National Party, the Liberal Democrats and the Greens.
