MADRID, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach of Atlético de Madrid, Diego Pablo Simeone, highlighted the lack of “forcefulness” of his team in the second half of this Tuesday’s match against Rayo Vallecano, accusing the lack of “tranquility” of his players for not taking the three points.

“Rayo hadn’t created goal situations and found the ‘penalty’, they took a hard-fought point, but with more forcefulness, with more courage and with more calm in that important part of the field, we could have taken the three points “, said the rojiblanco coach at a press conference after the game.

In this sense, the ‘Cholo’ insisted on the need to “work” that forcefulness that they have lacked in the last stretch of the game with which he wants to give “security” and “confidence” to his team. “The forcefulness must be worked on because it is a determining tool in football,” he indicated.

In the same way, asked about a better balance of victories away from home than at home, the Argentine influenced the same idea. “There will be some explanation, we are not being forceful enough and we are not showing our best local game,” he stressed.

Regarding the penalty called at the end of the match that equalized Rayo Vallecano on the scoreboard, Simeone did not want to enter into controversy and did not value the referee’s decision. “I have not seen it yet but it is clear that if the VAR determines that it is ‘penalty’ it is because they will have seen a hand, they have interpreted it that way and well, it is a pity that the game escaped us like that,” he settled.

After highlighting the good first part of his team, the Argentine praised the effort of his team in a week full of games. “The team came from a tremendous effort and until the 60th minute it was quite good, but at the end of the match we couldn’t keep this victory” he affirmed.
