MADRID, 5 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The general secretary of the PP and spokesperson for the Popular Group, Cuca Gamarra, has accused this Wednesday the chief executive, Pedro Sánchez, of “occupying” now also RTVE before the upcoming electoral year with the aim of “serving the Government” .
This has been pronounced after the Council of Ministers has approved a modification of the statutes of the RTVE Corporation to give executive powers to the president of the Board of Directors, after the resignation of José Manuel Pérez Tornero and the election of Elena Sánchez as interim president of the Board of Directors.
Speaking to journalists in the corridor of Congress, Gamarra pointed out that they are facing an “assault on a new institution” with a “clear objective: maximum powers with minimum controls.”
The leader of the PP has indicated that “they have forced the resignation of the president”, José Manuel Pérez Tornero, and have appointed an “interim” president, giving her “greater powers with a change in the Statutes of RTVE”.
According to Gamarra, there is an “assault and occupation” of another body so that it “serves the Government and not the State and the Spaniards ahead of the election year.” In his opinion, there is a deterioration of the institutions due to Sánchez’s attempt to control those that have something to say, such as the CIS and the INE, among others.
