However, in his speech he did not refer to Junts’ negotiation with the PSOE on an amnesty law.
According to Puigdemont, the formula to achieve independence already exists and he believes that we just have to decide to apply it: “We have it in our hands, but it depends on our will because we have the capacity and you have demonstrated it.”
“We have to do everything possible not for a dispersion, but for a confluence of wills for independence so that 1-O is the nerve that determines political action,” he stressed.
According to Puigdemont, independence will also be completed “with more self-esteem, which does not mean an absence of self-criticism, with more empathy, which does not mean absolute understanding, and with more conviction” of what the Catalan people are capable of doing, what It should not lead to ignoring shortcomings and limits.
In his opinion, all the attempts that have been made to supposedly reduce the significance and legitimacy of 1-O, from the opposing camp “and sometimes from his own camp,” have failed, and he has also criticized those who have wanted to corner, in their words, the CdRep.
