It occurred in a parliamentary commission that began a year and a half ago and is not new, because they include it in their electoral program.

MADRID, 22 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The PSC spokesperson in the Parliament of Catalonia, Alicia Romero, has clarified that her party’s proposal to create a “federal treasury” occurred within the framework of the conclusions of the commission to study the State’s debt with Catalonia in the Parliament

As he said, this is not an offer that the Socialists have made to Junts to negotiate on Sánchez’s investiture: “It is not up to us to put forward options or proposals,” he stressed.

He has also indicated that the proposal for a federal treasury is part of the PSC program and the documents approved in its congresses, so “it is nothing new.”

In this regard, PSC sources add to Europa Press that they participated in this parliamentary commission “out of courtesy” a year and a half ago and now its conclusions are presented. Therefore, they completely disconnect him from the investiture process of Pedro Sánchez.

Along these same lines, they point out that this proposal is not new, it follows the same position that the PSC has maintained in its program and therefore “it is nothing new.” In this way they reject that it is a proposal that responds to the latest demands expressed by Junts in tax matters.

The party of former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont estimated the “historic debt” that in its opinion the State has with Catalonia at 450,000 million euros. He also demanded the forgiveness of the debt of the Autonomous Liquidity Fund and also collected all taxes, that is, his own treasury.
