The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 3 of Estepona (Málaga) has accepted for processing the lawsuit filed against the Secretary of State for Equality, Ángela Rodríguez ‘Pam’, for statements about the former partner of María Sevilla, former president of the Free Childhood association.
This has been confirmed to Europa Press by judicial sources, who have indicated that the lawsuit has now been admitted for alleged interference in the right to honor due to some statements in a media outlet in which Rafael Marcos considers that he is presented as an “abuser.” “.
This admission for processing occurs three months after the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court (TS) sentenced the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, to compensate Marcos with 18,000 euros for the same reason; that is, also for presenting him as an “abuser.”
In that case, the lawsuit filed by Marcos’ legal representation was partially upheld, in which he claimed 85,000 euros from Montero – the sentence was finally to pay 18,000 euros – for the words he spoke on May 25, 2022 during the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Women’s Institute, and its dissemination on Twitter after the pardon granted to Seville became public.
Thus, the Minister of Equality pointed out that the State “has a debt” with “protective mothers” and that it must “be able to protect” these women who “protect themselves and their children from sexist violence.” . Sevilla’s ex-husband claimed in his lawsuit that in this context Montero “presented” him as an “abuser of both his son and his ex-partner.”
