Due to their close proximity to 1895 Morgan Dollars, the 1895 Proof Barber coins have become well-known. Heritage offered an 1895 Barber quarter-dollar graded Proof68 by Professional Coin Grading Service. Heritage also included a green Certified Acceptance Corp. sticker. Heritage noted that the coin was “Regally toned in shades royal-blue & dusky rose, and silver mirrors shine through its fantastic, original tone.”
It was worth $14,400
The next lot, a 1911 Barber quarter-dollar, was also graded and “green beansed”, but it comes from a smaller number of 543 coins as opposed to 880 in 1895. Heritage also noted the razor-sharp strike of this coin, noting, “The almost flawless surfaces are covered in vivid shades o sea-green, cerulean blue, and magenta toneing.”
It made $8,100 despite a smaller mintage than its 1895 counterpart.
