For this Thursday and Friday, a prominent thermal rise is expected in Madrid, Zaragoza or Cuenca

MADRID, 1 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The arrival of a DANA in Spain, scheduled for this Friday, September 1, will bring rain and a marked drop in temperatures over the weekend, when the maximum will not exceed 25ºC in large regions of the north and interior of the peninsula, due to instability atmospheric. Likewise, the entry of this DANA will mark the beginning of the meteorological autumn, according to data from the eltiempo.es portal.

In this way, throughout Friday, a sack of cold air will drop from north to south after a cold front that will affect the west of the peninsula, so the weather is accurate. Although the arrival of DANA is clear, it is still uncertain. where it will descend in latitude, which will be known exactly one or two days before the episode.

Given this uncertainty, eltiempo.es has pointed out two possible scenarios. In the first place, the DANA could drop down through the west of the peninsula and would cover an area from the Atlantic off Portugal to the Spanish-Portuguese border, so it is likely that it would reach the Gulf of Cádiz until it stagnated.

If this were the case, the most intense rainfall would be recorded in the Mediterranean and in the interior of the peninsula, with bands of rainfall that would advance from south to north or from southeast to northeast. According to eltiempo.es, the current forecast contemplates this scenario, with heavy rains during the early hours of next Sunday to Monday in the interior of the peninsula.

On the other hand, the DANA could descend on the Peninsula, so that the most notable rainfall area would move to the northeast, and would mainly affect the Mediterranean coastal provinces, from the Valencian Community to Catalonia, the Ebro Valley and the south face. of the Pyrenees.

In any case, until Friday, temperatures will remain contained in a large part of Spain, with slight rises over the next few days, so the values ??will be somewhat higher between Thursday and Friday.

On Wednesday, less than 30ºC will be registered in large regions of the interior and north of the peninsula, which will be exceeded on Thursday when the thermal rise will be noticeable in Madrid, Zaragoza or Cuenca. In addition, in the north there will also be a significant thermal increase, where it will be around 25ºC and 28ºC on the Cantabrian coast.

In this way, the highest temperatures would be reached in the south of the peninsula, with 35ºC in points of the Guadalquivir. Thus, the values ??in this area would drop slightly on Friday, while in the rest of the country they would remain stable.

This situation will become general as of Saturday, when the decline will be noticeable due to the cooler air and the cloudiness of the DANA, so that the values ??will remain contained in almost the entire country. On the weekend the maximum will not exceed 25ºC in the north and interior of the peninsula and will even be around 20ºC where the cloudiness is more dense.

In any case, the beginning of the meteorological autumn (September, October and November) will be marked by values ??higher than normal for this period in areas of the northeast, the eastern Cantabrian Sea, Aragon, Navarra, La Rioja and eastern Castilla y León. In addition, the temperature of the sea water could also be above average.

On the other hand, eltiempo.es has indicated that the capacity of Spanish reservoirs is at 38.79%, “quite below” the average of the last 10 years, for which reason it has insisted on the need for rainfall to alleviate the current drought.

Thus, the forecasts indicate that the rains could be slightly above normal in both archipelagos, the north of the peninsula, points in the center and the Mediterranean, where torrential rains could occur due to the thermal increase in its waters.

This forecast contrasts with the average temperature typical of Spain during the autumn, which is usually 15.4ºC (according to the period between 1981 and 2010) and rainfall of 195 liters per square meter.

Likewise, of the three months that comprise the climatological autumn, November is the rainiest, although depending on the area, the warmest and most pleasant temperatures occur in September.

Regarding rainfall, it usually rains more in the north of the peninsula, the south of Valencia, the north of Alicante and the Balearic Islands, as well as some areas of Cádiz and the Central System.

In addition, in September it rains more in the southeast of the peninsula and in the north of Catalonia, while in October it rains in Castilla y León, Castilla La Mancha, Aragón, the Valencian Community –except Alicante–, Catalonia, Murcia and the south of the Madrid’s community.

Thus, November is usually the rainiest month in Andalusia, Extremadura, the north of the Community of Madrid, Cantabria, Galicia and the Canary Islands.
