A train loaded with hazardous materials has derailed while crossing Mohave County, in the US state of Arizona, while there are currently no reports of spills of any substance.

The spokeswoman for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Anita Mortensen, has announced that the train derailed on Wednesday night in the city of Topcok, near the states of California and Nevada, detailing that she was not aware of any spill or leak, according to ‘The New York Times’.

In this sense, Mortensen has reported that he learned of the news for the first time at 8:00 p.m. local time (4:00 a.m. Spanish peninsular time), and that he has notified the National Transportation Safety Board and the railway company BNSF of the incident.

This incident took place weeks after the derailment of a train loaded with toxic materials in the town of East Palestine, in the state of Ohio, and which has aroused concern throughout the country about its impact on local health and the environment.
