Ensures that the leaked text was a “draft” and that there will be differences
MADRID, 20 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has assured that he has “a clear conscience” in the face of the motion of censure that will be debated tomorrow, Tuesday, March 21, in the Congress of Deputies, at the same time that he has asked the Popular Party to listen to the intervention of the proposed candidate for the presidency of the Government, Ramón Tamames, and reconsider his vote, that ‘the popular’ have already announced that he will abstain.
“I am calm and, above all, not only calm in spirit but with a clear conscience because I believe that we are doing the right thing. I believe that we Spaniards are suffering from the worst Government in many decades, each one who chooses how many. Of course I choose many “, Abascal stated in an interview on Cadena Cope, collected by Europa Press.
In his opinion, the coalition Executive “has taken the slope of legislative extremism” with laws such as the “only yes is yes” law, the democratic memory law “that wants to confront the Spanish” or the euthanasia law, ” that invite despair to the people who are having the worst time”, he quoted.
Regarding the motion, he has invited the Popular Party to reconsider its vote, which will be abstention, after listening to the intervention in the Lower House. “I would ask you to listen carefully to tomorrow’s speech and to reconsider the vote that you have announced, because it does not seem very moderate to me to announce the direction of the vote before listening to a speech,” he has slipped.
Asked if Tamames’ speech will be the one that became known through a leak, the Vox leader pointed out that it was a “draft” and that, therefore, there will be “differences”, while acknowledging that this ” accentuation” did not like “anyone” although “there is no harm that does not come for good”, he pointed out.
In line, questioned if Tamames was the first candidate to present the motion or they probed another name, Abascal has stressed that the formation was considering “many names” and not only close to the Popular Party, but also to the PSOE, although he has not revealed none.
“We have thought of a handful of people. Some have not been contacted, others have been considered, but we have not received tla gourds and how they put it. We are very satisfied with the candidacy of Professor Tamames,” he indicated.
