The Kurdish-Iraqi Rudaw agency has indicated that the incident happened at a polling station in Agaclidere, 35 kilometers from the center of the province, in the middle of the vote to elect the local representative.

The journalists present there have not been able to gather more information because they had to escape the shots fired by the participants in the brawl.

In fact, the vehicle carrying the Anatolia news agency’s envoys was hit by a bullet, as reported by the Association of Journalists of the Southeast of the country in a statement reported by the ‘Cermik Gazette’.

“Although it is gratifying that our colleagues did not suffer any harm, this serious attack is as worrying as it is terrifying, because our colleagues had warned us that there was insufficient security during the vote in Agaclidere. The attackers, encouraged by this situation, ended up shooting against journalists,” the association denounced.
