Today Bankinter distributes a complementary dividend of 0.01 euros per share, which represents a total amount of 96.8 million euros, after the shareholders gave the ‘go-ahead’ to this payment at the meeting held on 21 December. March.
Thus, the entity will have distributed a total of 422.3 million euros as a dividend based on 2023 results, which means maintaining the pay-out at 50%.
Of those 422 million euros, 325.5 million have already been distributed prior to the meeting: in June 2023 it already paid a dividend of 0.092 euros; in September, 0.12 euros; and in December, 0.14 euros. Therefore, the total gross dividend corresponding to the year 2023 is 0.47 euros per share.
This amount of 422 million euros that the bank is going to distribute as a dividend out of 2023 profits means increasing the payment given in 2022 by 50%, in light of the increase in profits that Bankinter recorded in 2023.
Specifically, last year, it achieved a record recurring profit in its history of 845 million euros, which is 51% more than in 2022, despite the impact of the new tax on the financial sector, which for the bank was 77 million of euros, as reported this Thursday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
