The purple formation calls for the same treatment for Netanyahu as for Putin

MADRID, 24 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The general secretary of Podemos, Ione Belarra, has warned the PSOE about the autonomy of its formation in the Lower House, maintaining that whoever wants Podemos votes for the General State Budgets “will have to negotiate with Podemos.”

“This new phase has not been decided by Podemos, it has been decided by the Socialist Party and, of course, from now on, since we have given our vote to the investiture for free, whoever wants Podemos’s votes will have to negotiate with Podemos” , Belarra stressed in an interview this Friday with Telecinco, collected by Europa Press.

When asked whether her party will support the next Budget, the leader of the purple party has indicated that Podemos will do “what it has been doing for the last few years, which is to put the interests of the country ahead of its partisan interests.”

“What we are going to do in Congress is to represent an entire transformative left that wants there to be courage, that there be the ability to look at the PSOE face to face,” indicated the Minister of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 until a few days ago.

He has also pointed out that the PSOE rules in the Government but not in Parliament, where a majority must be built in the democratic bloc that, in his opinion, the socialists “have decided to break.”

Belarra has insisted that the socialists have “never” wanted to govern with Podemos because the purple ones are the permanent confirmation, in her words, that much more can be done than the PSOE.

Regarding the conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas, Belarra has wondered, in reference to Pedro Sánchez’s visit to Israel, if really all the International Community can do is “go talk” with the prime minister. Israeli, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Along these lines, he has demanded that the Israeli State receive the same sanctions that Russia has suffered after the invasion of Ukraine. “Putin was brought before the Criminal Court and exemplary economic sanctions were applied so that he could not move a single dollar from his international accounts. Why are we not doing the same with Netanyahu?”, the purple leader reflected.

Belarra has also insisted that Sánchez’s visit will only serve “to whitewash a war criminal”, something that is far from what people are waiting for, which in her opinion are concrete actions that “stop Israel’s feet.” .

And regarding the Government wanting to recognize Palestine as a State, Belarra has lamented that in “the entire” last legislature there was time to do so “and never a finger was lifted.”
