MADRID, 16 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Cádiz and Elche signed a one-goal draw this Monday at the Nuevo Mirandilla, a result that does not serve either of them much, especially the green-and-green team, which continues without winning and sinks more and more in the position of bottom of LaLiga Santander 2022-2023.
Sergio González’s team and Pablo Machín’s team played a key direct duel in the lower zone, more for the visitors, who did not reach their improvement in the second half to get more than a point. The locals, for their part, found themselves out of relegation at times, but finally they let a home win slip away again and were second from last.
The meeting had practically a half for each one. The first was Cadista-colored, helped by his best start and by Brian Ocampo’s early goal, who opened for the Cadiz team with a great shot against which Edgar Badía could do nothing.
The goal settled a Cádiz team that controlled the game better and had two other good chances with ‘Choco’ Lozano and a shot from Iza that hit the post. Elche were able to react in the final stretch and enjoyed three chances in the same play, with Ledesma repelling Gumbau’s powerful shot and seeing how the stick avoided the shots from Pere Milla and Lucas Boyé. Before the break, the visiting goalkeeper avoided making it 2-0 with a good intervention on a close shot by Alex Fernández.
However, after the break, Pablo Machín moved the bench and the tackles from Fidel and Lautaro Blanco improved him. The locals took a step back, lost control of the crash and suffered. Boyé warned in a foul and Gumbau tried again without luck from the outside with the stands of the Nuevo Mirandilla increasingly restless.
Finally, Ezequiel Ponce, who had entered for Roger Martí, rewarded Franjiverde’s greatest ambition in the final stretch with a tie that was in danger in added time with two actions by Álvaro Negredo that could have given the victory to the Cadiz team.
