MADRID, 30 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish speed skater Jhoan Sebastian ‘Chevi’ Guzmán has won the gold medal in the 200m TT Dual race at the World Skate Games in Argentina 2022, a medal that represents the first gold metal for the Spanish delegation at the event.

‘Chevi’, of Venezuelan origin and skater for FSV Vigo, dominated the test to confirm his good form, just two weeks after winning four gold medals and a world record of 200 meters in the European Championship.

Previously, Ruth Arza won the silver medal in the same modality in the junior category with a time of 19.980 seconds. With these two new medals, the Royal Spanish Skating Federation (RFEP) adds one gold, three silvers and one bronze in these World Skate Games. In the junior male category, Alejandro Cortés was eleventh and the senior skater, Luisa González, ninth.

In the long-distance races, the Galician Manuel Taibo was on the verge of the podium with a sixth place in the Junior Elimination Points. In the male senior, Patxi Peula was thirteenth in the Elimination test.

In Street, Mery Muñoz has guaranteed herself to play the Roller Freestyle final by finishing second with 81.72 points, less than one behind the first classified, the Japanese Chihiro Azuma. She will also fight for the Guifré Obradors medals in Scooter, after being fourth in the semifinals with a score of 86.43 points.

In addition, Leo Vinicius, only 10 years old, made his debut in the World Skate Games participating in the Skate qualifiers but did not manage to reach the semifinals.

This Sunday, the Spanish women’s inline hockey team will play the World Cup final against France (11:00 p.m. Spanish peninsular time) in search of their first title, while the junior and senior dance couples will end their participation with their Free Dances.
