MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Villarreal recovered its smile this Monday in LaLiga Santander 2022-2023 and returned to the path of victory by beating a gray CA Osasuna 2-0 at the Ciutat de València Stadium, with the Dutch Arnaut Danjuma, author of the two winning goals.
The Castellón team had four consecutive league games without adding the three points, with two defeats against direct rivals such as Betis and Real Sociedad and draws against Cádiz and Sevilla, with only one goal scored in this bad dynamic with which it ended against a rival that gave less ‘war’ than expected and that extended the games to three without winning, the last two with defeat, although they are still in the ‘quiet’ zone.
The ‘Yellow Submarine’ needed the three points to visit the Spotify Camp Nou in better spirits this Thursday and continue hooked to the noble zone of the classification. For this reason, with an eleven in which Unai Emery mixed rotations, Villarreal came out with impetus and with the desire to get the clash back on track as soon as possible.
However, Jagoba Arrasate’s men were able to endure and even their start brought the first chances through ‘Chimy’ Ávila and Darko Brasanac, but little by little the locals improved and took control of the game. David García took a new goal from Alex Baena and Sergio Herrera put a good hand on Dani Parejo, warnings prior to the 1-0 that came just before half-time. Jackson drove into the area and his pass sent it into the net with a big Danjuma backheel.
After passing through changing rooms, Villarreal achieved the final 2-0 and that gave him more peace of mind. Sergio Herrera couldn’t help but bring down Alex Baena and the ensuing penalty was converted again by the Dutch striker.
From then on, the Castellón team was able to increase their lead on the scoreboard, but they were unable to do so and Osasuna managed to react to try to add excitement to the final stretch, although the one who had the most work was Sergio Herrera. The positive news was the return to the playing fields of the local Alberto Moreno
