MADRID, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Valencia CF announced this Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to extend the contract of defender and captain José Luis Gayà until June 30, 2027, for which it manages to close one of the renewals that it considered most important for the future.
After not being able to retain midfielder Carlos Soler in the summer, transferred to the French Paris Saint-Germain, the ‘che’ club has been able to do so with two other youth players such as Hugo Guillamón, who signed until 2026, and José Luis Gayà, one of the greatest exponents of its current workforce.
The 27-year-old international left-back and Copa del Rey champion in 2017 had a contract until June 30 and has now extended it for four more years with a club whose Academy he joined when he was 11 years old “to become in a sporting and emotional reference” of Valencia CF.
The ‘che’ team, which announced the renewal with a video in which other symbolic captains such as Pepe Claramunt, Ricardo Arias and Fernando Gómez passed around the bracelet until they gave it to Gayà, cataloged the defender as “one of the best footballers of his position around the world. “Valencia CF is pleased not only with his performance, but also with his way of defending the shield”, he stated.
