MADRID, 27 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of FC Barcelona, ??Joan Laporta, recognized that this Wednesday’s match against Bayern Munich was “emotionally very complicated”, since the Catalans needed a “miracle” that finally did not happen after Inter Milan’s victory against Viktoria Pilsen, which mathematically left them out of the Champions League before jumping to the Camp Nou.
“Unfortunately the miracle we needed did not happen. The game was emotionally very complicated, although we are very grateful to the fans for how they cheered on a day as difficult as this one. We have the best fans in the world. The players showed their faces , nothing can be recriminated against them,” said the Barça president in statements to Barça TV, which is collected by Europa Press.
The culé president alluded to the process of “reconstruction” that the club is undergoing at the same time that he stressed that the team now has to “look forward”, after another elimination in the Champions League and another win against Bayern (0-3).
“We still have the League, we have other competitions left and we knew that in this reconstruction process there would be ups and downs. We have shown that this team is growing day by day. I thank you for standing up, both to the fans and to the players, like the coach,” he added.
