MADRID, 31 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona’s Polish striker, Robert Lewandowski, is absent for the Catalan team’s visit to the Czech Republic, where they will face this Tuesday (9:00 p.m.), a Barça team heavily burdened by defensive injuries.

As published by the club in a statement, Xavi Hernández summoned 21 footballers to face the last match of the Champions League group stage, and if there are options to advance to the round of 16, and with the Europa League as the next guaranteed European challenge.

The main absence in this goodbye to Barça from the top continental competition will be that of Pole Robert Lewandowski, who is being rested by the Terrassa coach due to “back discomfort”. The forward, scorer of 18 goals this season, has played it all with the Catalans – 17 games, only one as a substitute.

In addition, Xavi will be without Sergio Busquets, due to suspension, and defenders Araujo, Koundé, Sergi Roberto, Eric García and Christensen, injured. Thus, the coach will have to develop an emergency defense for the duel against the Czechs, to which Memphis Depay will not travel either. Xavi completed the squad with youth players Álex Valle, Marc Casadó and Akhomach.

Thus, the list is made up of goalkeepers Ter Stegen, Iñaki Peña and Arnau Tenas; Bellerín, Piqué, Marcos Alonso, Jordi Alba, Balde, Álex Valle, as defenders; midfielders Pedri, Kessie, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Pablo Torre and Marc Casadó; and forwards Dembélé, Ansu Fati, Ferran, Raphinha and Akhomach.
