Real Madrid pulls at the moment and trade in Elche
Ancelotti’s men consolidate their lead with goals from Valverde, Benzema and Asensio
MADRID, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid beat Elche (0-3) on Wednesday in matchday ten of LaLiga Santander held at the Martínez Valero, thanks to goals from Fede Valverde, Karim Benzema and Asensio, to prolong the good moment and consolidate the lead.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men took three comfortable points despite the efforts of a team from Elche that started with great respect, almost fear, and, when they reacted, they did not have the aim of the leader (28 points). With punch, as in the recent Clásico, Madrid solved the start during the week, despite the fact that the VAR annulled three goals.
Madrid landed at the Martínez Valero with its cruising speed and Elche was saved from the win in the first few minutes by a few millimeters. The VAR invalidated a goal from Benzema and another from Alaba in a start that was clear for the Whites, moving the ball well and quickly between the players above.
After five minutes, the Ballon d’Or continued its celebration on the pitch, but Vinicius was in a tight offside position at the moment of the death pass. For Elche it was a serious warning but they were unable to cover the holes through which the rival slipped. Pere Milla helped the locals to get out of the cave but Elche suffered without the ball, even better after conceding.
In another good combination, Madrid opened the can through Valverde, another sweet in the European champion’s squad. Madrid took shelter behind and Jorge Almirón’s men gained time to develop their game. Tete Morente sent up a good option from a corner kick, but once again the Whites punished.
In a double wall, with Valverde and Benzema, David Alaba made it 0-2, but once again the VAR caught the referee’s attention. Elche accepted the visitor’s insistence as normal and also sought theirs, with a save from Lunin to Nico. Elche reacted but the most important thing was missing, which is in Benzema’s blood.
The Ballon d’Or saw the net again after the restart, but it was still not good for the VAR. The ball was looking for the best player in the world, while Elche again came with danger, in a header by Clerc. Madrid was not the one to start with, but the goal ended up making peace with Benzema in the 75th minute.
The Frenchman, behind a heel wall by Rodrygo, silenced Martínez Valero and ended with the faith of a bottom-ranked Elche without scoring yet. Ancelotti then moved to the bench, Camavinga and Asensio came on, and the Balearic put the icing on the cake for a Madrid that is on its own, without losing a single game so far this season.
