The celebration will coincide with the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, and will host two large events organized by the Government of Spain that will bring together representatives of European ministries and business leaders and the main world regulatory bodies.
MADRID, April 13, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Today the second edition of Global Mobility Call, the largest international event on sustainable mobility, which will take place from September 12 to 14 in Madrid, has been launched worldwide. Five months after its celebration, the event organized by IFEMA Madrid and Smobhub already has 30 partners, as well as national and international associations, and more than a hundred exhibiting companies and 50 startups. Added to all this is the sponsorship of the Government of Spain, through the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, and the support of the Community of Madrid and the City Council.
Global Mobility Call will bring together large corporations and associations from the energy sector, with Cepsa, Iberdrola and Total Energies; public transport, with the Transport Consortium, EMT and Metro de Madrid; multimodal mobility, with Adif, Aena, Arriva, Enaire, Iberia, Puertos del Estado, Renfe and Senasa; technology and innovation, with Etra, Indra, Ineco and Sistem; and infrastructures, with the National Geographic Institute, among others.
At a press conference, María José Rallo, Secretary General of Transport, of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda; David Pérez, Minister of Transport and Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid; José Vicente de los Mozos, president of the Executive Committee of IFEMA Madrid; David Moneo, director of Global Mobility Call, and Juan José Lillo, co-founder of Smobhub, have presented the second edition.
Global Mobility Call will bring together 10,000 participating professionals, in addition to another 15,000 who are estimated to participate through the digital platform, in a meeting that will promote multisectoral relations between companies, institutions, associations and experts, within the framework of opportunities offered by policies of the European Union in terms of energy saving and sustainable mobility through the NextGenerationEU funds that will mobilize aid worth 800,000 million euros, largely for mobility projects. 50% international participation is expected, with a strong presence from 16 European and Latin American countries.
“Establishing new environmentally friendly mobility models is vital to minimize the serious effects of the climate crisis we are experiencing. Global Mobility Call 2023 is a unique opportunity to learn about the most advanced and innovative mobility solutions. I am confident that its conclusions will attract the attention of Spanish society and world public opinion”, said María José Rallo, Secretary General of Transport, of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda.
“The alliances with multilateral organizations will allow -according to José Vicente de los Mozos, president of IFEMA Madrid- that the second edition has leading voices from the sectors that make up sustainable mobility, while consolidating the international projection of the event through the direct participation of large international organizations. We also work through commercial delegations in different countries to attract companies, investors and international leaders.”
Spanish Presidency of the EU
This edition will coincide with the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Thus, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda will organize, within the framework of the Global Mobility Call, two parallel events: the “Technical conference on mobility in rural areas” and a meeting of “The PEP Partnership on Active Mobility”.
In addition, GMC will have a specific area for cities and territories, national and international, for the exchange of experiences and trends, success stories and implementation plans for new mobility solutions and low emission zones. Thus, GMC will be the largest platform for collaboration and public-private business on sustainable mobility.
GMC will be structured around two axes -GMC Congress and GMC Expo-, and will have an innovation space made up of the sum of startups and scaleups through forums and platforms to promote new initiatives through public and private investment funds. Likewise, the new talents in New Generation will be promoted with universities, educational centers and international organizations.
