MADRID, 27 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Villarreal tied (2-2) this Thursday with Hapoel Beer Sheva on matchday five of the Conference League held at the Ciudad de Valencia, a clash that marked the debut on the yellow bench, with nothing at stake, for Quique Setién.

The ‘Submarine’, with a new boss, was surprised by an Israeli team that rushed their options to stay alive in the competition. Villarreal, with nothing at stake as the first mathematician in Group C, gave up the first points in Europe (13 of 15).

Tomer Hemed made it 0-1 at the start of the second half, with a penalty signaled by Mandi, without the option of reviewing the VAR. Setién’s team forgave the opponent’s area in a first half that left very good chances for Samuel Chukwueze and Arnaut Danjuma, under a great direction by Manu Trigueros.

Hapoel’s transitions also generated their danger but it was with that maximum penalty that the scoreboard moved (0-1). Without their best version, Villarreal had been better and it didn’t take long for the goals to come and the revenge of both Chukwueze and Danjuma for the 1-2.

With 10 minutes to go, Sagiv Yehezkel, who seemed to be out of control moments before, saved one last run to get to the kitchen and beat Pepe Reina. The error at the start was paid for by the team of a Setién who neglected the European streak of the ‘Submarino’ in the first game without Unai Emery.
