The Spanish delegation has added a new gold and another silver this Tuesday at the World Skate Games 2022, which are held in Argentina, after the victory of Mery Muñoz in the final of Roller Freestyle Street and the runner-up of Patxi Peula in the race of Elimination Points.
On the eighth day of competition, the day began with good news for the Spanish delegation. Patxi Peula was proclaimed runner-up in the Elimination Points race, after the Spanish long-distance runner achieved a total of 12 points, only surpassed by the French champion Martin Ferrie.
In Puerto Madero, Mery Muñoz was proclaimed champion of Roller Freestyle Street in the final that was suspended this Monday due to rain. The Spanish rider completed a great round that allowed her to add 85.60 points and climb to the highest step of the podium.
However, in the Scooter Street final, Guifré Obradors was forced to retire after two heavy falls in the best tricks. The Spanish rider was third at the end of the two rounds with a total of 86 points.
On this day, in addition to the two medals in the senior category, Manuel Taibo won gold in the 1000m sprint in the junior category. The Spaniard completed a great race to add another success for Spanish speed skating.
