Those of Kenio Gonzalo, committed to epicness and success, defend their crown with a goal in the 82nd minute in the final against Colombia

MADRID, 30 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish U-17 women’s team was proclaimed world champion in the category for the second consecutive edition, after beating Colombia (0-1) this Sunday in the final.

The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai (India) witnessed a new success for Spanish women’s football, which shows that it has a future to be and remain among the best. Kenio Gonzalo’s men defended the title won four years ago in Uruguay thanks to an own goal by Ana Guzmán in the 82nd minute.

The first half left tension and also some play, with both teams well planted and Spain enjoying a couple of chances from Cristina Librán’s shots. The same protagonist had the Spanish team in a goal annulled by the VAR.

The champion had been warning and, in a quick attack, Guzmán scored the own goal that crowned Spain with its second star. After losing in the European final against Germany in May, the women’s U-17 confirms its power status, in a tournament that advanced on an epic basis, especially in crosses.
