Torremolinos is committed to becoming “the best days of the year” in its new tourist promotion
Madrid, February 2, 2024.- The new promotional campaign was presented at the Chicote Museum with the attendance of numerous authorities and personalities from the cultural, business and artistic world. Torremolinos presents its campaign “The best days of the year”. The mayor of the municipality, Margarita del Cid, has been in charge of launching the promotion, which has a double objective. On the one hand, it is a thank you to all those who, without being from Torremolinos, consider it as their home, according to the mayor. On the other hand, it is an invitation to “live the best days of the year, to share, experience, to disconnect, to connect, to truly feel and to break with routine. The best days of the year that are already part of memories and way of being and feeling; but above all, the best days that are yet to come,” explained Del Cid. This motto is also a claim for those who do not know Torremolinos because “the city awaits them with open arms”, according to the mayor, who has also taken the opportunity to highlight that the municipality experienced the best tourist year in its history thanks to the most of 5 million overnight stays. The event was attended by personalities such as the general secretary of Tourism of the Andalusian Government, Yolanda Aguilar, the president of the Malaga Provincial Council and Costa del Sol Tourism, Francisco Salado, and the president of the Association of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol. Sol Occidental, Manuel Cardeña. At the event, some of the milestones that will mark the year in Torremolinos were presented, such as the presentation of the municipality’s candidacy to host Europride 2027, the renovation of the old Los Álamos Hotel to convert it into a facility specialized for digital nomads, the theming of the Battery Park with a tribute to Francisco Ibáñez and the celebration of the second edition of the Torremolinos Cinema contest, which emphasizes the defense of Human Rights. Sports tourism is one of the driving forces of Torremolinos and one of the axes of this year. More than three million euros of direct impact thanks to all those people who chose the city to practice sports, professionally or as amateurs, since they can enjoy excellent facilities, which are being permanently expanded. Del Cid, in the presentation, thanked the “tour operators who work intensely in this sector and who have contributed to the fact that there are hotels in Torremolinos that no longer close even during the month of January to accommodate professional athletes from everyone who chooses Torremolinos for their training. One of the sporting events that the town will host soon, having been chosen by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, will be the semi-finals of the Women’s Futsal Super Cup. The event was presented by Xenon Spain and the artist María Estevez and was attended by relevant personalities from the cultural, business and artistic world such as the Italian ambassador to Spain, Giuseppe María Buccino, the co-founder and director of Idealista, Fernando Encinar, and the designer Lorenzo Caprile. During the event, the promotional video that Torremolinos has presented in Fitur and which completes the tourist brand “The Origin of Paradise” was projected. The work was made by filmmaker Enrique García Atralla and reflects how two people have experienced Torremolinos in all its essence throughout the year.
